Bringin’ Sexy Back.

Well, I did it.  I went for another run.  I didn’t want to.  But, Shawn was trash talking me, so I was like Bring It!

The temperature was up to 47 this afternoon and the sun was shining, so I was able to wear the one and only pair of running tights I have.  I got dressed, and when I came downstairs Shawn said (and I quote) “Whoa.  You look hardcore.”  Sweet.  So, I made him take a picture, because I didn’t want to let you guys down again.

When I started off I knew it was going to be a good run, because the very first song on my iPod was “Sexy Back.”  How in the whole world did my iPod know I was bringin’ sexy back?  It probably remembered what I was wearing last time.

I have to say, it was an easier run.  There weren’t even any dogs to flip off or teenage boys to spit loogies at.  Oh wait.  That was the other way around, wasn’t it?  Whatever.  Oh, and I figured out what was up with my Nike sensor.  So, this time I knew where I was at with my miles, and I apologized to the voice in my ear bud for calling her a whore last time.  She didn’t seem to mind though.

Here’s the breakdown:  4 miles, time of 39:35, pace of 9:53, and 500 calories burned according to my heart rate monitor.

I consider today’s run a success!  Only 2.2 more miles and I’ll be up to the distance for the 10K.  I’m not sure I’m stopping at the 10K though.  Apparently, somebody thinks I’m running a half marathon with her in August.  Maybe I will, but only because there’s going to be a pool party afterwards.  I wonder if I can bring a blow up doll for a floatation device in the pool?

Congratulations on a great run! You are totally bringing sexy back.

So about the running buddy... a friend and I were there together, but we were going to go at our own paces. Surely I would come in ahead, because she hasn't been running long, right? DAMN! She beat me by about 30 seconds. I am giving up all pride and admitting defeat. I will be sticking with her from now on! :)

Good for you! I run (and I hate it). I have a half marathon coming up in a few weeks. What was I thinking??? I do about 2-3 a year but I have not been training at all for this one. I have a friend trying to convince me to run the Chicago marathon in October. I'm crazy, right?

You look hardcore Tami... why bring the sexy back when it didn't leave you at all? Hahaha! You look great my friend! 10K? Hmmmmm... I think I will stick with my 5K for now.

Have a great day! xoxo

You do look hardcore! I mean really. You look like you could do a marathon! Why stop at a 1/2 when you can do a whole. Remember this is spoken by a girl who couldn't walk a 10K!

Wish I could run 4 miles in under 40 minutes! Hey, do you wear your Nike sensor with Nikes? I've been interested in them, but I wear Mizunos and have been wondering how that works.

I wish I looked like that in a pair of running pants. I also wish I could run 4 miles in that time. It would take me a week!

"Somebody" is totally making you do that half marathon, and that "somebody" will be sending the training plan to you soon. All forms of flotation devices will be permitted at the pool party, but Juan might need some swim trunks if your girls are coming!

You totally look hot and I respond to trash talk pretty much the same way you do. Like, oh yeah, watch me kick ass!

Are we doing the Chris Cook again this year, I think we are going to be in town?

So, I am a dumb loser who has never completed a 5K and my pace sucks. What is the best way to improve my pace?

BTW: You totally looked hardcore! But, weren't your calves cold?

Hardcore indeed. Good for you for running with that much snow on the ground.

I love that you put so much effort even into your running appearance. You should see what I look like running. I definitely don't match and my tights, though not from 7th grade, are from my marathon days in college. That's more than 10 years, which goes to show you that you're right. Spandex is always equally out!

That is fantastic!

I also love that song and so does my 2 yr old :-) Every once in awhile she will ask from the back of the car if "we can bring sexy back - yah!"

atta girl. ain't it crazy how a song can fit PERFECTLY? I was about to die at 6.5 miles on Thursday, and I was being a big baby, and I was running through my BFF since birth's neighborhood, and the Boom Boom Boom song came on (you know, from Jock Jams ... "boom boom boom, let me hear ya say way-oh ..."), and it was like Popeye got some spinach.

I think my song was lamer than yours.

Yup, we got a bread maker from him. It was actually a great visit, and I gave him so much hell and then he said to me, 5 years? It was only 3 that I didn't talk to you guys...3 or 5 same damn thing, lol!

Very hard core indeed...I wouldn't look that put together if I went for a run outside. But lucky for me I am not a runner. Way to go!

If I dress like that, do you think people will think I'm a runner?
