Majority rules?

Wowie wow wow!  You people came out of the woodwork with comments on my last post!  Many of you popped over here from Erin's blog after she gave me a shout out, so welcome (!) to any new readers or followers.  I promise I don’t normally post about my vagina, or anyone else’s for that matter.  And for anyone who doesn’t know Erin, you should definitely check her out, you will love her!

As far as the removal of the IUD goes…  I was thinking maybe the fate of the IUD was in your hands, and I was going to say “majority rules!”  However, the more I looked at the comments, the more I saw that there was no true consensus.  You were split almost evenly into these three groups:

  1. Have a drink, and yank that puppy out!
  2. If you think you can do it, then go for it, but I sure wouldn’t!
  3. You’re crazy, don’t do it!

I was pleased that regardless of your opinion, no one was mean, and there were no anonymous trolls who commented!  Whew.  I did also get an email from one of my bff’s who emailed an OB/GYN nurse practitioner/midwife to ask for advice for me.  Here is the midwife’s response:

“There is no harm and in fact I've had a couple of people do that/ have a partner do it-- but it's kind of hard to grab the strings because they are really fine.”

So,  there you have it.  I’m sure you’re dying to know what I decided, right?  (Probably not.)  Well, you’re going to hate me, but I didn’t decide yet.  Do you want me to let you know what I decide to do?  I’m hoping the title of that post won’t be “Don’t try this at home.”

Since you were all so helpful with this, I thought I’d ask you for your opinion on one more thing.  This will be easier, and won’t make you queasy, pinky swear.

We’ve been looking for a sectional couch for, well for forever.  Last weekend I finally found exactly what I wanted!  It smaller, just 2 pieces, with one end being a chaise.  The color is exactly what I wanted, and then I’m going to custom order a small chair, and the couch pillows will coordinate with the chair.

Since Shawn’s opinion is the only one I have (and he doesn’t really count), I thought I’d ask you.  Here is the cushion with the fabric draped over it:

I thought we would need to paint the walls, but after we saw the cushion against the wall, we thought it looked pretty good!  Here are two of the curtains I’m considering:

So, what do you think?  Do you love it?  Do you hate it?  Do you want to leave me an anonymous comment telling me I have horrible taste?

P.S.  If you are new to my blog, I apologize that I haven’t gotten over to check out your blog yet.  I promise I will.  It has been a crazy week here…everything from my 4 year old actually pooping her pants the same day I had my poop stain to my older daughter’s school getting locked down because there was a crazy guy with a knife running around the neighborhood!

Ooo I Love it! I love blue and brown together. I like the first curtain choice. Is that a microfiber sofa cushion? New furniture is the best!

Blue and brown look so awesome together. I like the second curtain. It has a very modern look to it. You wanna know how psycho blogging has made me... When I was changing my you know what(the thing with a string you use when your Aunt Flow is in town) yesterday, I thought about you and wondered if you had yanked your IUD out. Pretty gross that I think of you while handling my personal business huh?!?

I would freak out if my kid's school was on lock down because of a crazy knife-weilding man. Have a great weekend!

That fabric is so pretty against the couch cushion. I may have to go find one similar now to go with my brown sectional I bought in November.

I like the first curtian better, but it looks like (though pictures can be deceiving) the color of the second will match better.

I think I would have flipped over the knife deal, but my elementary had lock downs once in a while due to an escape from the prison a few miles down the road and I ended up ok.

I love blue and brown together!

My living room is blue and chocolate brown! I like the first curtains---I actually wanted those for my living room but I went with only blue b/c the room was getting a little heavy on chocolate brown!
The fabric looks great with those cushions too!

Happy Friday!

Ooh, I love the blue and brown - looks like the color scheme of our bedroom!

And good luck with the IUD decision - I never did post a comment on it, but I feel like I'm probably with the have a drink and yank it crowd...

I absolutely LOVE the blue and brown combination! It's a color combination that takes someone brave to go through with it. I think it will look FABULOUS!!!!

Sorry to hear about the crazy week! The poop is kinda funny... the knife not so much.

Love the couch & curtain combo. I might be biased b/c about 60% of my house is that same color combination. I think it looks great together. And I really like the two color curtains.

No joke, I think I just bought the 1st curtain only in green the other day. Ours is for our master bath, and can actually be hung with the accent color on either end. I do however love grommets on curtains, too bad you can't find a combo of the two.

I love the fabric/couch combo too, but am not 100% sure about the pattern. Hey, you said you wanted an honest opinion. I'm sure it's really pretty, but I would worry it was too cute. Does that make sense. When we had our Living Room chairs made I went through a billion books of fabric, it's so tough.

What you haven't decided yet? I mean what have you been doing. I mean you don't have kids, a husband, a job...

I love the brown and blue. It is very classy!

Your life is like a soap opera. From now on, I'm coming to your blog when I need my soap opera fix, since I don't watch them anymore. I can't believe that about your daughter's school!!! Craziness!!

As far as the decorating goes, I like the 1st curtains better as long as it matches! Along with everyone else, brown and blue are fab together!

Oh yeah, you are too damn funny with the Kristina Darling comment on my blog - which was the whole reason I stopped by tonight but got distracted with your decorating dilemma! LOL

I love the color combination... they complement each other. And you have good taste.

I'm dying to know what your anonymous commenters said about the IUD thingy. Hahaha!

Have a great day Tami! xoxo

I love blue and brown. In fact I just redid my master bedroom in those colors and your first curtain choice is what I used in bedroom! It's really pretty!
