Feel Good Friday: The Vice President speaks.

logo3-larger-1

Welcome to Feel Good Friday!  I can’t even tell you how excited I am to be hosting this for Erika today!  I may have even peed my pants a little when Laura offered to let me host.  Damn it.  Did I just call her Laura?  Am I the only one having trouble with this whole Laurika thing?

Moving right along.  If this is your first time to my blog, Welcome (!) and thanks for stopping by today.  As Erika mentioned, you are among royalty here, because I’m actually the Vice President of The Girl Next Door.  Erika said you all would have to ask me about it, and since Melissa did ask, I will briefly tell you how I came to have that honor.

Well, it’s like this.  I gave it to myself.  Yup.  When Laurika went all fancy pants Wordpress on us, I noticed one of the links at the top labeled “The Best Blogs.”  So, I clicked and lo and behold, there I was.  At the very freakin’ top!  (Possibly by default of alphabetical/numerical order.)  Naturally, I then emailed her and declared myself Vice President.  Clearly it was destiny, I mean, I was at the top.  She accepted my offer, but so far I’m about as useful as Joe Biden…I smile, wave, and drop F-bombs at inappropriate times.  What more could you ask for?

Ok, we’re really moving on now.  If you’re new to Feel Good Friday, click here to choose your prompt.  Then, write your post and link up!

This week I’m choosing to write about something that is going to happen, that I’m sure will make me smile.  It’s also something that involves happy memories, and something nice that I am doing for someone else.  So, I guess you could say it’s a combination of a few of the prompts.

annie

Annie is one of my favorite movies from my childhood, and tonight I’m taking my daughters and my Mom to see a local production of Annie!  I’m so excited for so many reasons.

As a (part-time) stay at home Mom, I do have a lot of one-on-one time with my daughters, but we rarely go out and do something “special” like this.  I’m also so thankful my parents live close enough to us, that my Mom can join us.  My daughters don’t even know yet that we’re going to the show, so I can only imagine how excited they’ll be when they find out we’re going and that Grandma is coming too!

It’s so wonderful that my daughters are finally to the age where they are making “lifetime” memories, and I truly hope that this will be one of them!

Have a great weekend, and Happy Feel Good Friday!

Oooooh, I loved Annie as a girl! I am a Feel Good Friday virgin, but it was a great week to start! As far as Vice Presidents go, I'd like to think you're doing a much better job than Biden!

VP,

So excited to hear you are going to Annie, I still remember my mom taking me to that show and me wanting to be friends with all of the orphan girls. Your girls are going to go nuts!

I will try to complete this FGF task but am off to work and then leave first thing in the morning for 2 weeks. If packing gets done, I'll be in the FGF spirit.
Good work though!

I, too, remember being all dressed up as my parents took me to see my first professional production, Annie! My girls haven't seen it in the theatre, but have seen the movie. The question is, who's better, Carol Burnett or Kathy Bates? Tough call... thanks for hosting!

wow -- VP!?! :)

annie was one of my favorites - I got the soundtrack on tape and used to walk around with my walkman belting out all of her songs 24/7. Then my parents took the tape back (did I mention, I CAN'T sing?).

I got to take my daughter to see Annie about a year ago and we LOVED it. Had a chance to take her recently but her behavior hasn't really warranted any special events lately so I had to miss out. I have HUGE memories of Annie when I was growing up. My mom bought me the album and I used to listen to it over and over and over and act out every song and dance around my bedroom being Annie, random orphan, Miss Hannigan, a Boylin sister, and more.

Happy FGF!

I totally linked up. Only so you didn't look like a d-bag. As you had stated you were afraid of.

Tami, yes you are not the only one with the whole Laurika problem. I have not called her Laura yet again when commenting on Erika's FGF but came close!
Thanks for hosting this week and you and Mom and the girls are going to have a wonderful time! I loved the movie with Carol Burnett and there seems to be a "revival" going on right now with Annie shows popping up everywhere!

OMG. Simply my favorite childhood movie EVER! I pretty much sing a song from the movie at least once per week!

Congrats, VP! Awesome job today!

Back and ready to visit, Carol Burnett was in that movie, right. The song is now stuck in my head, better put in a Styx CD!

"Annie" was MY childrens' favorite and my salvation. Rainy days . . . blustery days . . . snow days . . . perfect days for Annie on video-cassette. You know! For the VCR?

Anyways . . .

Thanks for the linky. I was inspired to search out your blog hop because of the comment "Pat" left on my post this morning.

So sweet to do something special with your girl;s and mom.

A bit of trivia here... Firehubby's sis was in the movie Annie. She was one of the little actresses dancing. My little girl (her name is Annie) just loves this family trivia!

Hope you have a great time.

p.s. Rachel did not win, but she will have a lovely wedding at the end of the year in her sweet sister;s backyard :)

Vice president? Love that.

I recently introduced my daughter to Pippi Longstocking. Knowing how much she loves that resourceful little girl, I imagine Annie should be next on the viewing schedule. I bet the local production will be fantastic!

How FUN!! When I saw the Annie poster in your post, I realized I had totally forgotten about that movie. I loved it when I was a kid. Have lots and lots of fun and happy weekend!!
